How Spring Reminds Us to Embrace Our Own Growth

Rebirth in Motherhood

I swear, you can feel the shift.

One day, winter is gripping everything tight—the cold, the gray, the heaviness—and then suddenly, the air changes. The sun sticks around longer! You step outside, and for the first time in months, you don’t need to brace yourself against the chill. It’s subtle but undeniable.

Spring is creeping in…

And it always makes me think about early motherhood.

Whether you’re growing a baby, preparing for birth, or wading through postpartum, you know that feeling. The in-between. That space where you’re not quite who you used to be, but you’re not fully settled into who you’re becoming either.

Motherhood is a rebirth—of you.

And just like spring, that transformation doesn’t happen all at once!

Becoming, One Small Shift at a Time

There’s this idea that once you have a baby, everything just clicks. That you just become a mother, like flipping a switch. But the truth?

It’s more like those first warm days in February—teasing you, easing you in, only to drop back into cold when you least expect it.

You have a moment where you feel completely in sync, like “yes, okay, I’m getting it!!

And then the next, you’re questioning everything—Googling things at 2 a.m., feeling the weight of this huge shift, wondering if you’ll ever feel fully like yourself again…

It’s normal. It’s human. And it’s not just you.

Spring doesn’t rush itself into full bloom. It takes its time—some days bright and warm, others still clinging to winter. You get to do the same. 🌸

Shedding What No Longer Fits

Spring isn’t just about new beginnings—it’s about letting go.

The trees don’t cling to their bare branches. The flowers don’t hold back. They make space for what’s next.

Motherhood demands the same.

There’s so much you have to release:

  • The version of yourself who had more time, more sleep, more certainty.

  • The expectations you had about what this would feel like.

  • The pressure to “bounce back” (physically, emotionally, in every way).

And let’s be real—letting go isn’t always peaceful. It’s messy! It’s full of moments where you grieve the parts of you that don’t quite fit anymore.

But here’s what I know:

What’s on the other side? Is you. The real you. The one who is still here, still growing, still finding her footing in this new season.

Nurturing Yourself Through the Shift

We pour so much energy into making sure everything around us is thriving—the baby, the house, the work, the relationships. But what about you?!

You can’t grow without light. Without nourishment. Without space to breathe.

So maybe, as spring unfolds, you take a moment for yourself. A real one. Not just another task to check off, but something for you.

🌿 A slow morning with no rush to do anything.
☀️ A deep breath at the window, soaking in the fresh air.
🌸 A decision that puts your needs first for once.

Because you deserve care, too. Not just survival, but thriving. Not just “getting through,” but growing into this new version of you.

You Don’t Have to Rush Your Bloom

If you’re in the thick of it right now—feeling that in-between space, trying to find yourself in this season—I just want you to know:

You don’t have to rush this.

If You’re Looking for Support in This Season…

Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum aren’t just life events—they’re transformations. And you don’t have to navigate them alone.

If you’re craving guidance, real support, or just a space where you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself—I’m here.

✨ I’m currently accepting birth doula clients for July and beyond. If you’re feeling the pull to have steady, grounded support in your journey, let’s connect.

The sun is still warming the soil. The flowers are still stretching toward the light.

You’re getting there, too.

So take a breath. Open the windows. Let yourself be in this moment.

You are blooming, in your own way, in your own time.
