WORK WITH ME 〰️

I often joke that when most other children were watching cartoons, I was enamored with watching “A Baby Story” on TLC with my mom.

Around that same time, I was fortunate to be in attendance of my little brothers birth (Fun Fact: I was 4 years old and to this day it’s one of my most favorite memories ever!) and got to witness the miracle of childbirth then. It painted a beautiful portrait of the powerful dance and journey the human body, mind, and spirit embark on when welcoming a new baby Earthside.

Inspired by my own journey into motherhood which was painted with loss, change in birth plans, lengthy NICU stay, a military move, anxiety… but also a LOT of power, resilience, grace and strength. The loss of my first pregnancy and the birth experience of my son sparked a passion within me to become further educated and serve parents on their own journeys. At the time of the loss in 2015, I began to operate a bereaved mothers support group in our community and it further grew my love for supporting mothers; but also reflected during this time there was a strong need for support surrounding maternal and reproductive health. In 2016, I began my training and studies to become a birth doula!

In early spring of 2017, I welcomed my amazing rainbow baby, Maddox Reign into the world! A 9 week NICU stay, 1 military PCS, a doula certificate and 10 months later.. I began serving families in the Greater Washington, DC area with birth and immediate postpartum support and I’ve never looked back! I have a diverse “birth portfolio” and have been lucky enough to experience a wide array of prenatal and birthing experiences! My extensive training and experience ensures I’m equipped for all births: unmedicated, cesareans, inductions, pain managed births. At this point in my career, I have attended over 250+ births that have given me the privilege to witness the power of love and families becoming or growing. It is an honor I will carry with me forever!

One of my favorite things about being a doula is being able to share a wealth of knowledge and research with new parents! I nerd out over all things surrounding the perinatal period and love to share with parents to give them room to make informed decisions for their family.

Outside of my birth trainings, I have over 500 hours of completed yoga trainings and hundreds of hours in teaching experience spanning my current yoga career. I strongly believe it to be a practice that can simply just connect us back home to ourselves, if even for a moment. It’s beautiful to see the ways in which the breath, body, and mind all connect in birth, yoga, and nature.

For the last 3 years, I’ve worked in senior leadership and proudly managed a robust team of birth-workers spanning the DMV and facilitated countless families in finding their perfect doula match. My love for teaching expands in this role where I get to spend time educating other doulas on various topics and workshops related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

When I’m not attending a birth, I’m likely enjoying my beautiful neighborhood in DC, reading a book, teaching or taking a yoga class, baking, convincing my family to adventure with me. 😜

So deeply grateful for the families I’m incredibly blessed to work with and I can’t wait to talk with you more soon on how support with me in your village can feel like!
